Blogging Your Way to Riches

Blogs have become quite popular in the past couple of years. Anyone and everyone can create their own blog for free, and it only takes a couple of minutes. Plus, there are a lot of people who earn money blogging. For those of you who don't know what a Blog is, Blogs are basically journals or diaries that are in web page form, and the general public can view them. I have my own blog called Mike's Financial Freedom. With your own blog, you can express your views and opinions, write about your life experiences, and you can also make money with your blog!
Blogs are free to setup. I use Blogger.com, which is owned by Google. It's free, and it only takes 2 minutes to setup and start writing. Once your blog is up and running, it's time to put ads and affiliate links that will make you money. First, sign up with Google Adsense. With google adsense, you place text ads on your website and get paid everytime someone clicks on the text ad. Google uses scripting technology that will show ads that match your blogs content, to increase the number of click throughs. You can customize your google ad to match your blog. Some HTML knowledge is required in order to put the google ads on your blog.
The other way to make money with your blog is by signing up for affiliate programs that sell products related to your blog's main topic. For example, at My Blog, I signed up with the Amazon.com affiliate program because they sell products that relate to the general topic of my blog. I incorporate the affiliate links in my blog posts. This increases click throughs, and increases the chance of me getting a commision. There are thousands of affiliate programs out there. I search for affiliate programs at this website, AssociatePrograms.com.
The key to making money with your blog is by being active with it. One blog post per day is all that it usually takes. This will create more pages for your blog, and will create a better chance of people finding your blog through a search engine. The great thing about setting up a blog for passive income is that if it gets enough visitors, it will make you money whether you write articles on your blog or not.
